Chore:
|
|
|
Provides assistance with household or yard tasks, such as major cleaning, lifting, limited mowing, yard work and simple household repairs for seniors who are unable to do these tasks themselves due to disabling conditions. Health and Wellness Programs:

These programs are designed to help individuals stay active and healthy by providing activities in Pasco and Pinellas Counties that promote health and prevent disease. Educational programs, health screenings, and medication management counseling are just some of the activities provided. |

H.E.L.P. (Helping Elders with Legal Problems):
|
|
|
This is a not-for-profit corporation that provides assistance and education to elders re their legal rights and responsibilities. The service is available in to any resident of Pasco County 60 years of age or older. Volunteer attorneys offer a free 30 minute consultation to answer legal questions. Consultations are available by appointment only at CARES Claude Pepper Senior Center: 727-844-3077 and CARES Phil Mishkin Center: 727-862-9291. |

Homemaking:
|
|
|
Homemaker services are available to adults 60 years of age or older. A trained homemaker assists with light housekeeping, shopping, and laundry. This program allows elders who require some assistance to remain in their own homes and participate in the activities of daily living. Applicants are assessed to determine their eligibility to receive services. |

PascoFix:
|
|
|
Funds are available through the PascoFix program for repairs to your home (except mobile homes) to make it decent and livable. Repairs may include but are not limited to roof replacement, A/C and appliance replacement, electrical and plumbing repairs. The maximum after-rehab value of the property cannot exceed $200,000. Representative Payee and Bill Payer Program:
|

|
A Representative Payee is a trained volunteer certified by the Social Security Administration to assume responsibility for the management and disbursement of a client's Social Security check. Eligibility 60 years of age or older and unable to manage their benefit check. A Bill Payer is a trained volunteer who assists clients who need help writing their checks, paying their monthly bills, balancing their checkbook and/or setting up a budget if needed. This service is available to adults 60 years of age or older who need help managing their financial obligations because of a visual or physical impairment or a mild memory loss and who have a low to moderate income. Senior Health Clinic:

|
The CARES Senior Health Clinic provides low income and uninsured seniors 55 years and older with limited medical care such as general physical exams, limited primary treatment, monitoring of chronic illnesses, counseling, and referrals. Some donated medications, lab services and other specialty services, also, can be offered. SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders):

This state health insurance assistance program for elder Floridians provides educational materials and free unbiased insurance counseling to elders, caregivers and family members. Volunteers at the various CARES Senior Centers will make weekday telephone calls to designated clients to monitor their safety and provide social/psychological support.
