A Message from
Carl Kopp has been with CARES almost from the beginning. More than a dozen people attended his retirement gathering in the “We Care” Café on January 22 and enjoyed his favorite, chocolate cake, and coffee. After five years and countless event set-ups, he is now enjoying dancing, singing, karaoke and being an active member of his church. Retiring after 30 years with Ford Motor Company, Carl confided with us that he had had no such thank you party when he left Ford. We were pleased to make that happen for him. If you would like to send Carl well wishes his address is 14303 Glenndon Street, Hudson, FL 34667. I am excited about our Volunteer Fair on Tuesday, February 3, 2009. If you are reading this and the date has already passed, do not despair. We have plenty of volunteer positions available waiting for Retired Senior Volunteers to take advantage of. Studies have shown that people who volunteer live 6 longer, happier years than the general population. There is no doubt in my mind that this is true.
