CARES Classes—Silver Sneakers
Most Seniors realize that they need to participate in some form of exercise in order to maintain their strength, healthy weight, flexibility and balance. Silver Sneakers is a program offered at CARES for just that purpose.
Silver Sneakers #1 offers classes from 8-9 a.m. and 9-10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays. Silver Sneakers #2 meets on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Members of Humana Health Care may participate at no cost. The class is also open to anyone for a nominal fee of $3.00 per class.
Participants go at their own pace and may do the exercises while sitting. The classes are beneficial for those who exercise regularly as well as for those who are new to exercise. It is never too late to start this program. Telephone Reassurance Program
Volunteers at CARES Hudson Bayonet Point Enrichment Center make calls every weekday morning between the hours of 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., to clients who have registered for this program.
T.R. stands for Telephone Reassurance. Our volunteers monitor the safety of clients and offer social and psychological support. This service is available to anyone. If you, or someone you know, would benefit from this daily contact, please call CARES at 863-6868. There is no charge for this service.
