The lazy, hazy days of summer are approaching. Our snowbirds have headed up north, the A/C’s are beginning to pump in the cooler air as the temperatures outside are rising. Hurricane season officially begins on June 1st. Many of our year round volunteers are looking forward to vacation time with family and friends. Yours truly included.
One thing remains unchanged. The doors of CARES are still open to welcome you every Monday through Friday (for the summer) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Maybe you were too busy all winter to stop by. But now that it’s getting to be too hot to spend much time outdoors, check out the classes that will be offered all summer at our Center.
Learn basic computer skills, or move on to more advanced skills taught in four two-hour sessions.
Exercise and / or dance in our cool Rao Musunuru Activity Center. Have fun and stay in shape.
Join an art class and paint or draw the beautiful scenes you’ve stored in your memory.
Stop by our We “Care” Café for a refreshing salad or sandwich and ice cold drink. Why cook when our Café staff is here to do it for you? Order take out, if you wish. Our Café is open to the public, daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Stop by the CARES office for a copy of The Leader which gives a complete schedule of classes, days and times. Please support our advertisers.
Remember, we continue to need volunteers who can give time on a regular basis or substitute when needed in the Café and office.
