Happy New Year - 2008 By

It’s that time of year when most, if not all of us, make our resolutions. We write them down or make mental notes to diet, start exercising, and better ourselves in some way. Our resolves are firm, but sometimes they don’t last longer than a few days. This year, 2008, can be different. The programs offered at CARES can help you to achieve your goals. You do not have to join a gym, sign a long term contract or pay an expensive membership. CARES offers something for everyone, depending on interests and levels of ability. We all need to get moving in order to improve our flexibility, strength and cardiovascular health. Let’s resolve to do it in 2008. If you like to dance, join us at Line Dancing on Wednesdays from 11am to noon and Fridays from 10:30 to 11:30. No partners needed. Mainstream Square Dancing with Rounds takes place on Wednesday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Plus with Rounds Square Dancing takes place on Fridays from 6:30 – 9:00 pm. Sunday features Advanced A2 Square Dancing from 5:30 – 8:00 pm. How about stepping out of your comfort zone and attend Belly Dancing on Thursdays at 7:00 pm. CARES offers classes which appeal to those interested in combining meditation with gentle movement and relaxation. Tai Chi is offered on Mondays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. -12 p.m. Aerobics & Stretching is scheduled for Mondays from 9 -10 a.m. Each person sets her/his own pace. The sessions help to increase overall strength and improve cardio-vascular health. Silver Sneakers classes are held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Two Weight Watchers classes meet at the Center, one on Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m., and the other on Wednesday mornings at 8:30 a.m. We have it all, right here at one location. A program exists for you! Make that resolution to come to CARES, pick up a Leader and choose the class or classes that will get you moving, improve your overall health and meet some new friends. |
