Meet Our Volunteers
By
Joan Barry
I remember the day in September of 2002 when I stepped over the wires and beams and walked into the Hudson CARES office. I was greeted by Pat, the CARES Director, whose smile and enthusiasm convinced me that I would love the daily challenges and personal satisfaction that I would enjoy by becoming a volunteer.
I signed up and began as a receptionist that same day.
In the course of the next three months as the Center reached completion, several other people joined the ranks, either in the office, Café or helping at special events. With Pat’s dedication and direction the CARES Hudson Bayonet Point Enrichment Center was formally dedicated on December 10, 2002.
The Center is a activity facility, open to all. Participants have enjoyed Classes, Special Events and Dining in the We “Care” Café.
The success of the Center would not be possible without all of the volunteers who have given and continue to give so unselfishly of their time, talents and contributions.
Many of those who filled out volunteer applications in 2002 have moved away or are in failing health. A few have passed on. We miss them and are grateful for all they gave to CARES. The following volunteers who filled out applications in 2002 have completed five years of active involvement with CARES
