CARES To Host Medicare Assistance Program

CARES (Community Aging and Retirement Services, Inc.) is participating in the National Council on Aging (NCOA) and the Access to Benefits Coalition “My Medicare Matters Navigator Program”.  This is a special program to enable seniors and their families to learn more about Medicare and Medicare Part D by visiting specific, credible websites guided by trained Navigators. The next session of the “My Medicare Matters Navigator” will be held on Tuesday, December 11th at 1:30 p.m., at the Hudson Bayonet Point Enrichment Center, 12417 Clock Tower Parkway, Hudson.

This session is for anyone interested in learning more about Medicare Part D – Medicare beneficiaries, their families, caregivers and community members. Please bring your Medicare Number, Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan Number, Medicare Advantage or Medigap Policy Number as they can help you navigate through some of the sites.  However, you can still benefit` from the session if you don’t have your numbers.

Chris Powers, Project Director explained, “This program teaches Medicare beneficiaries how to navigate on a computer to good and reliable information on the Internet. This enables them to increase their understanding of Medicare and its benefits. This is extremely important now because Medicare Part D enrollment began on November 15, 2007.”

Class size is limited and registration is required.  Please call CARES at 727-862-9291 ext. 224 to reserve your seat at a computer. Couples may share a computer. Knowledge of how to use a computer will be helpful in participating in this session.
