EXTREME MAKEOVER FOR CARES ELFERS CENTER!

This is the architect’s sketch of planned renovations for the old Elfers School and the Annex. As you see, the frontage will be revamped to include landscaping. There will be a recessed entrance that leads to a covered walkway linking the two buildings. The work will probably not go as fast as “Extreme Makeover-Home Edition” but at least it is on the way! Watch this space for more bulletins.

CENSUS 2010        

Census workers will be at CARES Elfers on Tuesdays 9-11am from March 16^th to April 13^th to answer questions and address concerns about filling out the Census 2010 form. The census takes place every ten years to gather statistics on the US population. The statistics are used to allocate services and funding where it is needed the most. At the last count, the Elfers area was under-represented and therefore under-funded for the past 10 years. So, come talk to a Census representative then fill out your form and mail it to make sure you are included, thus ensuring adequate funding for the local population.
