November 20-22nd Ft Myers weekend

Our overnight journey to Ft Myers for the Mystery Dinner Train was given a new twist. Usually we have taken an intercoastal boat trip the next day which is very interesting. This time, we went to a new theater for A Christmas Carol. The play and the food were excellent. In the spirit of the play, the theater already had its Christmas trimming.

December 1stArabian Nights

Gingerbread men, sugarplums, faeries all danced in our heads as we dreamt along with the princess while she awaited the return of her husband on Christmas Day. The amazing skills of Jack Frost, the beautiful, well-trained horses …. All came together to give us a Christmas journey into fantasy. And, goo food! Hey, and there were a lot of couples on this trip. Enjoyed seeing the men experience the comfort of “leaving the driving to us.

December 3rd – Ellenton

We all swore we didn’t NEED anything but still managed to pick up a few ‘specials’ at the Ellenton outlet mall. A visit to Le Gourmet Chef offered a sampling of so many dips, salsas and spreads! It felt like lunch! We were joined by Sarah (Cares Hudson Travel) and shoppers from their group. New friends and new stuff!

December 21st – Dade City Christmas Walk

Every year Dade City transforms Church Avenue into a Christmas display with decorated homes and musical entertainment. We slipped into churches to hear choirs and solos and watched several lawn musicians, including a harpist and jazz group. Strolling along the closed roads were Dickensian carolers and Mr & Mrs Claus who stopped every few yards for photo opportunities. The Christmas decorations and displays were outstanding, including the living story of Christ’s birth. Everyone came away with a different experience.
