DO YOU KNOW…….?

This month we are featuring our Travel Coordinator

NORM FITSKO

Norm Fitsko is the Volunteer Coordinator of our busy Travel Department. Born in Toledo, Ohio, Norm and wife Joan have two children. Before coming to Florida in 1993, Norm led a very active life in Toledo. He worked in a factory for 30 years, was with the Fire Department for 25 years, the Police Force for 15 years and was a relief school bus driver for 15 years. Some of these jobs would have to have run concurrently or Norm would be very old indeed! After arriving in Florida, Norm and Joan both joined the Elfers Senior Center as volunteers. Norm began as a bus driver and still does his fair share of the driving. This is Norm’s second stint as Coordinator. Under his leadership and aided by a very able volunteer staff, Travel is doing very well. As if he isn’t busy enough, Norm has a hobby: he paints crafts. His wife says he is happiest when the wheels are turning!

It’s in the Bag

The Elfer’s Thrift Shop will be having a Bag Sale for the whole month of September!

What is a Bag Sale, you ask?

It works like this: We give you a bag and you fill it as full as you can for just $2.00.

Fill it with what, you ask?

Any men’s and women’s clothing you like.

How many $2.00 bags can I fill, you ask?

As many as you want!!

So, come to our Bag Sale, bring a friend, and show us “What’s in Your Bag” !!!

CONDOLENCES

Heartfelt sympathy from all at Elfers to our volunteer Treasurer, Jim Melito, who recently lost his brother. Our thoughts are also with artist Jan Wojcik on the loss of her husband John.
