Flu Shots
Pasco County Health Department nurses will be at Elfers on Wednesday, October 7th at 12 noon to give flu and pneumonia shots. Please sign up at the front desk and pick up the County form that needs to be filled out and brought with you to the clinic. For those on Medicare or with a Medicare HMO the flu shot is free. For those with a PPO plan the charge will be $25 (reimbursable from insurance). This will be the seasonable flu shot and will not include the H1N1 strain (swine flu). The pneumonia shot is $54 this year, also free or reimbursable. We are told that, in some cases, the pneumonia shot is a deterrent to swine flu. If you have already had the shot, that is good news. Also, seniors are not thought to be at risk for the H1N1 flu strain. |

Thoughts for Grandparents Day (September 13th): Grandchildren are the reward you get for not strangling your teenagers. Few things are more satisfying than seeing your children have teenagers of their own. |
