Seen in this photograph is a section of the crowd attending CARES Elfers Center popular Country Western Music Jam. They come every Saturday at 1:00pm to be part of the event that features Northern Connection, an informal group of acoustic musicians started by Margaree Gray and her late husband, Marvin. They began the Saturday jam nearly 13 years ago and today Margaree is still joined by a large group of players and singers. The rules are simple: “No drinking, smoking or bad language. Just good old country, bluegrass and gospel music --- and corny jokes!” In the winter the audience swells to over a hundred and you will be hard put to find a seat.
