May 23rd – Early Bird Dinner Theater “Private Lives” by Noel Coward

Another adventure. Even though we tried to fit our bus into a small space a bit unsuccessfully, we moved on to a nice buffet dinner and an entertaining comedy.

Had a few first timers with our travel group and they were enthusiastic and hope to continue to take trips with Elfers. Welcome to them and we always give our appreciation to our returning crowd. We in the Travel Dept strive to bring you new and interesting trips, along with the perennial favorites.

June 15th – IKEA expedition

We shopped until we dropped (or close to it)! IKEA was huge, has a wide variety of household goods, and a tasty and reasonably priced cafeteria. Sure was nice getting dropped off and picked up at the door and resting our feet on the way home.

Everyone enjoyed the trip and almost everyone bought (in spite of plans to “only look”).

June 18th – Dali Museum

Unless you are a student of Dali, a tour guide is a must! Our docent, Pierre, was so informative and entertaining that the hour long tour sped by. We all agreed that we would never have understood (as much as anyone can understand) Dali without his help. And to understand his art at least puts you on the road to love of his art.

The museum was followed by lunch at the St Pete pier (a story in itself) and some took and raved about the 25 cent trolley ride.
