Bus Fund  

Thanks to the original donation of our current bus, Elfer's Travel Department exists and is able to offer a service to seniors that is difficult if not impossible to find anywhere else. We offer low cost, senior friendly trips for individuals with no membership required. There is variety, frequency, convenience and safety plus great fun and a very friendly atmosphere. CARES Elfers Center is conducting a fund drive to purchase a 2nd bus. Our goal is a “new” 25-30 passenger bus to serve as replacement if current bus has to be retired, serve as back-up during maintenance and repairs, make more seats available per trip and provide additional trips/charters. Donations are accepted at our center or by mail. When booking a trip, please consider adding a little extra to put in the fund. Thank you for your support!

CARES Elfers Travel Department recently took a day trip to the Royal Lippizzan Stallions’ training farm in Myakka City. Even though the day was a bit  chilly, the enthusiasm shown by the trainers entertained us and was very informative. These horses are just plain beautiful! After a few hours at the farm, we went to an Amish restaurant, Sugar N Spice for a great lunch before returning home. The day was so well received that another trip has been scheduled for February.  Hope you can join us.
