TAX PREPARATION AARP volunteer tax preparation for 2009 returns will begin in January 2010. There will be early sessions for those who receive their W-2’s etc before the deadline of January 31st. These will be held on: January 19th 21st 26th and 28th (Tuesdays and Thursdays) only, 12:00pm – 3:20pm. Thereafter, the appointment schedule will be as follows: February 1st until April 15th: MONDAYS (except for February 23rd or March 23rd): 9:00am – 12:20pm TUESDAYS: 12:00pm –
3:20pm WEDNESDAYS: 12:00pm – 3:20pm THURSDAYS: 12:00pm – 3:20pm FRIDAYS: 9:00am – 12:20pm Call the CARES Elfers Center 847-1290 to make an appointment and bring last year’s tax return (2008) and attachments. If you find you are unable to keep that appointment, please call to cancel or reschedule. We will need all the available time slots so that we don’t have to turn anyone away.
Census 2010 Every 10 years, a census of our population is conducted. As a census taker, you’ll help to make sure that everyone in your community is counted. A 2010 Census job offers a lot: good pay, flexible hours, paid training, and the chance to work independently in your own community. Schedules typically include from 20 to 40 hours of work per week, interviewing the public, mostly in the evening and on weekends. CARES is offering a
legal and financial seminar on Tuesday, December 10th
from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the CARES Rao Musunuru, M.D. Enrichment
Center, 12417 Clock Tower Parkway in Hudson. Presentations will be
made by Attorney Gregory Gay and Theresa Brock. They will discuss
Florida Wills and Trusts & Avoiding Probate with a Trust. The
seminar is open to the public but seating is limited. First come
