CLASSES
Instant musician class move: The Saturday morning “Instant Musician” sessions with Clark Parry and Lucinda Durkee are moving to 3210 Channing Drive, Holiday. The class runs from 9:00am to 10:00am and combines the Elfers and Tanglewood students. The 2-hour lessons are for anyone interested in playing folk music on the dulcimer, banjo, or other stringed instruments (you can use your own instruments or theirs). Learn about music theory, how to keep time, chords, keys and more in a relaxed and casual setting with these gentle patient teachers. Come for any or all sessions; the 2-hour lesson is $15. For further information go to www.alleghenymtndulcimer.com.
Mahjong: Are you a mahjong player looking for a game in a friendly atmosphere? Come join the happy Elfers group every Wednesday at noon. We are looking for more enthusiasts and have plenty of room to set up several more tables. You can also come to watch and learn.
Artists & Models: The portrait painters are looking for models. If you would like a relaxing afternoon in a friendly atmosphere with soothing music, this is for you. And there’s a bonus: You may take home the portrait you like the best (they are so good it will be hard to choose) or the artists will pay you $20. So if you have a free Friday afternoon (12:30-3:00pm), call Sandy Butterfield (727) 862-5800 or Elfers (727) 847-1290.
French classes: Do you have some knowledge of the French language and want to learn more? Elfers would like to offer French lessons in 2009. The class is planned for Mondays from 1:00pm to 2:00pm and is for individuals who have some knowledge of the language, e.g., High school French, who want to improve their conversational skills. If you are interested in participating, please call the center at (727) 847-1290.

Tai Chi will not be held on Monday, December 29th, 2008.
